Hello I would like to appeal a warn that I feel would be better off as a verbal warning as there was no real consequence to the person it affected and they only entered the RP scenario where a "law abiding citizen" would naturally not do so.
I was being raided by a group who adverted raid when a bystander citizen climbed up to my "staging area"/ramp to my loot pathway knowing full well that a raid was ongoing, while an active raider was still a combatant. The entryway climbs up my props to a roof and then another ramp where I killed a citizen player.
I believe his initial complaint was that I rdm'd him even though he was putting himself in between the situation of a group raid and crossfire, and since one was still actively throwing EMPS at my base and lining up behind him I had no choice but to shoot him because the raider was behind him. He knew what he was doing and ran up the ramp with a camera to (in my opinion) cheese the system and be a troll, ran up with a camera swep equipped to specifically harass me while I was defending my base.
Where I recognize the ultimate error was that I did not have a KOS sign, reading the rules of KOS signs, especially for solo players is a little ambiguous, or at least was misinterpreted by me. Reading the rules it can be interpreted that a KOS sign is not necessary unless defended by a party, especially when waiting to return fire after picks are used/EMPs are thrown at your base and a group raid was adverted. I think it is also fair to mention that I created a ticket ~ an hour before the mishap for a base check making sure my base was OK.
Anyhoo a little longwinded but yeah I think it's unfair to get a warn in this circumstance, and thank you for your consideration.
